Unity and Coherence

Unity (focusing a composition or part of one on a single topic) and coherence (connecting sentences so that they flow smoothly and logically from the beginning to the end of a composition) are important characteristics, since written work which is weak in these two areas will seem to be little more than a collection of disorganized, unrelated ideas. The links below should provide help in understanding unity and coherence and also in applying them in the writing process.
