Writing

Writing in English (or any language) is an art, not a science, but it is not a completely creative activity: traditional English writing (and particularly academic writing) is "constructed" according to many accepted conventions which readers and other writers expect in order to help them follow the progression of ideas in a composition and, in doing so, to allow them to decode the meaning intended by the author.
